How do you collect personal data and for what purpose?

We use ordinary tools to collect data from our website. The purpose of this data collection is to identify patterns of use in order to optimise and improve our website. Personal data is only collected for the purpose of contacting you to offer relevant products and services and in order to provide a good level of customer service.

We use marketing cookies to track visitors across different websites. The purpose of this is to display advertisements which are relevant and engaging to individual users and therefore more valuable to third-party advertisers.

What is the legal basis for data processing?

The legal basis for our processing of personal data is your voluntary, express and informed consent.

What types of personal data are processed and how are they collected?

You can choose to give us your contact information (name, postal address, e-mail address, telephone number) when you get in contact with us. We use the e-mail address that we have registered for you in order to send you offers and similar communications.

We record general information about the user population of our website via Google Analytics. Among other things, this tells us how many people visit our website and what pages they look at. We cannot access information on individual users, however, and nor are we able to collect information about individual visitors either.

Do you forward data to third parties?

Your personal data is not shared with any unauthorised third parties, although Kjell Foss AS does use sub-contractors for the development and maintenance of our website. Such subcontractors may process personal data on the behalf of Kjell Foss AS.

How is personal data deleted and stored?

All information collected regarding traffic on our website is stored in Google Analytics. We do not keep local copies of your data. We do, however, store reports about average traffic, etc. User and event data is deleted after 26 months.

We store contact and address information about our customers for the purpose of handling any future claims/complaints. Pursuant to the Norwegian Sale of Goods Act, such information is stored for a minimum of five years. Pursuant to the Norwegian Accounting Act, we store data on all orders for a minimum of ten years.

What rights do data subjects have and what jurisdiction applies?

You have a right to be informed about what personal data we store about you. You can also request that this data is corrected or deleted. We are otherwise bound and governed by Norwegian legislation.

How is data protected?

Only individuals who need to analyse trends and statistics on our website have user access to the data stored in Google Analytics. Information provided in connection with quote requests and follow-up communications is stored on password-protected computers.
